Government Model College, Basar, established in 2015, has completed 9 years of its meaningful existence. The college started its journey with the vision to inspire and motivate young students. This premier institution aims to nurture and develop the young learners of the society in terms of intellectuality and spirituality.

It aims to build a healthy mind and soul among the learners. The college aims at developing the human resources required at different levels of the society and make the students self-reliant, as learning is not a process limited only to the college, nor does it end with the completion of one’s academic journey in college. Hence, Government Model College, Basar, is dedicated to fostering an environment which is conducive to the holistic development of the students through the adaptation of various methods that suit the dynamics of the changing world in order to achieve common goals and objectives. It is further characterised by a shared vision, which the college toils to achieve through a team of fabulous faculty members who display an unending zest and intense commitment. The collective contribution of all the members of the teaching and non-teaching staff has been instrumental in realising various goals of the college. Together we plan to reach new heights in the future.

As Swami Vivekananda had said, “Truth can be stated in a thousand different ways, yet each one can be true”, each one of the students will one day have to ascribe a meaning to their lives. Their education – both within the recesses of the college as well as outside it, will help them find the Truth. The true hallmark of education is one “ by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.” So, one must endeavour to seek out that education, discover that truth and remember to use it well.

Government Model College, Basar, has successfully introduced the National Education Policy (NEP) -2020 from the academic session 2023-2024, which is student-oriented and choice-based.
